Claudio Alho - Accordionist and Accordion Repair Clinic

Claudio Alho, fell in love with the accordion from a young age of 4. The passion for the instrument and music has grown into a big part of his life ever since he got his first accordion.

Claudio started playing in the Portuguese folk dance group where he played all the Portuguese folk music. As Claudio got older he got more inquisitive about the instrument and wanted to explore in playing more on the accordion and different genres. Claudio found himself in the classical world of the accordion and competed in many competitions and winning a lot of competitions.

Knowing that the accordion community in South Africa is very small with little to no services and with very limited knowledge amongst the South Africans, he is now strived to promote the accordion throughout South Africa and to bring the world of accordions to the people of South Africa.

He took a course in Italy to repair, service and restore accordions, now he is one of 2 people in South Africa that is qualified internationally to repair accordions. He is also the president of the association SAFRA (South African Free Reed Association) which strives to promote the accordion in South Africa.

Claudio continues to grow in music and in the community. He can play at your next even or assist in repairing your accordion.
