about us
The Young Adult Portuguese Society (YAPS) is a group of young inspiring professionals and entrepreneurs in South Africa with Portuguese heritage that host various events for our communities based across South Africa.
YAPS is affiliated with the South African Portuguese Chamber of Commerce (SAPCC) with each YAPS member being a SAPCC Youth Member and having free access to all SAPCC events.
In June 2023, the SAPCC was awarded the Order of Merit from the President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo De Sousa, in recognition of the SAPCC’s contribution to the promotion of trade between Portugal and South Africa and its contribution to uniting the Portuguese and Luso-South African entrepreneurial community.
We also hold affiliations with the Portuguese Welfare Society in South Africa, Porto Business School, Portuguese Forum South Africa, Câmara De Comércio E Indústria Luso-Sul-Africana, and the Academia do Bacalhau.

Basic Membership is just a once-off fee of R100.
Business Incubator Membership is an annual fee of R2 500.
