YAPS held its inaugural youth leadership summit – Juízo na Cabeça (JnC) last weekend.

Participants, made up of high school pupils and university students spent the day at Gold Reef city taking part in our very own Amazing Race.

Teams had a number of tasks to perform while they raced around the theme park enjoying the rides. The tasks related to different professions such as journalism, radio, medicine, law and business.

They also got to spend the day with professionals in their own fields, asking questions and getting some insight into the working world.

Guests speakers on the day were 5fm DJ Nicole da Silva, Business Day journalist Genevieve Quintal, Managing director of the OBC group and the Franchise Association of SA chairman Tony de Fonesca and  psychologist and life coach Tony de Gouveia.

Participants and mentors were privileged to listen to great motivational talks given by Tony de Gouveia and Tony de Fonesca on learning from your mistakes and succeeding in life and business.

A big thank you to our 2017 JnC participants who were enthusiastic, smart and engaged which helped make the day a success.

YAPS would also like to thank to Linda Dias (Psychology), Liz Serrao (Law), Tyrone Dias (Banking), Bernie Jardim (IT), Nelson Egas (Property), Miguel de Freitas, Chris Sampaio and Ricardo de Freitas (Chartered Accountancy), Roberto Sumares (Financial Management),Micaela de Freitas (Actuarial Science) and Chantelle de Sousa (Law), who gave of their time and mentored these young minds.
